hometown glory.

been 2 days, feels good.
can't wait to fill the week up. :)

ps: you shldnt be reading this, call me!!

bag fulla gifts, pocket fulla joy.

if Saturday doesn't come for me and God decides to take me away mid-air..
remember i love you all to bits.

otherwise, come saturday and your phone wouldn't stop ringing!

laters lovables!

mid-air serenity.

flying over the vast oceans, leaves many stomachs in a knot.
not me tho. love being lost in space with jets at full force behind me burning away. stewardesses doing their thing. a drink of whiskey here, cup of coffee there. sweet desert here, a wink from the stewardess there.

then you get lost in incomplete sleep with your head bobbing all over the seat headrests. you wake admist the darkness to a plane full of bodies drooling. but random moments will always be highlights such as a light in the distant admist total darkness, it's a random girl reading with her single light on. makes you wanna take a pic. or a song on the SQ music vault that makes you smile. or also when the stewardess brings you more whiskey without asking :P

hahah. yea, then comes transit. tired people complaining without saying a word. their faces say it all. you talk to them and they give off an unfriendly grunt. pull out your laptop and the battery's dead. try to sit, but the butt cheeks are yelling in numbness. before you know it, the queue to re-board is longer than the plane's length itself.

the last phase is always a knock out for me. i always wake when we're about to land. just as the pilot nervously but assuring steadies the plane before making contact with the tarmac, i'd whisper instructions to him. almost like i'm grading him. and upon touchdown, i'd tell him what to do with the throttle.

only then i'd thank god for the blessedly safe journey.

before the stewardess can announce how not to yank out your cellphones, you'd hear ringtones and vibrations buzzing through the plane. and nothing surprising when everyone just stands up, ready to run out the door before it even opens. sheesh.

why don't no one enjoy every second of flight, like i do. ;)

naa, no turning back now.

Amrit blogged about Thich Nhat Hanh.

thoughts..

we're put on earth for a reason, right? if every man makes a difference in this world, touches someone or saves a life, where would we be today.
instead of exploiting, what if we created.
why do our kids grow up thinking, let me just enjoy first and i'll make something out of myself later.
why do we follow the educational path hoping to mold our kids into something great.
our parents, for some of us, grew up hustling. did they go wrong?
they educated themselves, hustled thru tough jobs, and finally found a certain job that worked; and possible they were interested in.
so why go through a 6 + 4 + 2/3 + 4 = 16-17 year education process where instead from the start, you educate the kid with life skills and enough education for him/her to think critically and to question the world.

when a child is born, he thinks without fear. asks why the world is round, where do babies come from, why is the sky blue etc.
why do we blunt that kind of thinking. imagine someone who grows up with that unchallenged mindset. i'd recon he take the world by storm 'coz no one can stop his imagination.

probably blogged about this before from a different angle.
coming back to our motive in life. we live such comfy lives where we got power from every socket and water from every tap.on the other side of the world, we've got millions of people who die without knowing why who have not heard of a torch light or a hybrid car. yet we have built ourselves a society that is no different from hyenas.
jealousy, hatred, you know the deal.
what stops us from helping the less privileged. what stops us from focusing our energy into building something for the less privileged.

lotta ppl live in fear. fear of falling below society's drawn line. the line that separates rich from the average, and average from the poor.
little do we know, but i've met poor ppl who're much richer & happier.

pfft. confused world we have on earth.

GoodFellas.

Just watched GoodFellas. Great movie. Love these kinda movies about the mid 1900 Italian mobs. If you haven't had to time to watch the first Godfather or the GoodFellas, watch it.

and the shopping has begun. 2 wks till airborne.
thing i love most about flying, other than actually being airlifted or in-flight, is transiting in seoul or even just the waiting time in SF. chilling at bars, restaurants or waiting areas and watching the looks and reactions of people. people from all walks of life, from all over the world; some friendly and others not. love.

so anyways, shopping. called sister yesterday to discuss thoroughly what to get mom dad. she's the best.
still got coupla things to pick up for friends too. i plan to finish it within the next few days and not drag it all the way till i leave. (yea right p'deep!) ;p
